I love my brain

I fucked up.

It’s because of my schedule. It changed in January because one of my colleagues quit and I had to pick up some extra hours. So my schedule is different now and I don’t know it by heart yet.
Somehow I thought I only had to work the first half of the day on Mondays. I felt terrible, and I think I apologised about a hundred times to anyone who would listen.

Why that suddenly transported me to the haunted castle in the Efteling, I don’t know. But suddenly I had to test the ride. I was sitting in a fauteuil with skeleton legs sticking out of it, which was on some kind of track as it went through huge versaille-gone-eighties-halloween rooms. I was frightened, alright. I hated the puppets moving around robotically. I hated the dark. I hated the noises. So I decided I didn’t want to participate in that nonsense.
I hopped right out of the seat and walked back to the entrance, security be damned. The room was dimly lit, with only rainbow-like mood-lighting in the corners, so I couldn’t see around me very well, which spooked the crap out of me.

That’s when the Doctor stepped into the room, screwdriver in hand.

My Doctor. Tennant.

I’d never been so happy to see a little blue light.

You see, I was testing the ride because something was wrong with it. Dead wrong. And he was also here to find out why. Everything was still scary, but I felt more okay with the Doctor by my side. We looked around, at the cobwebs, the furniture, the robotic dolls…
The dolls were looking at us. They were conscious.

And then I woke up.

I’ll be honest- I think I might hug my screwdriver-replica, which has been lying on my bed-side table ever since I bought it.
